They say that a picture is worth a thousand words... which to me seems to imply that photographers are pricier than writers. I wonder if that bothers authors much, realizing all the effort they placed into a 50,000 word novel can allegedly be replaced by fifty snapshots by Jimmy Olsen.
Hmm. That'd be a much easier way to complete NaNoWriMo... that's less than two pictures a day.
On reflection, that doesn't seem like a very accurate ratio. For example, the Lord of the Rings is something like 300,000 words long. Could someone accurately reflect the content of that with just three hundred photos? Doubtful. Determining the exact word to picture ratio might require some rigorous scientific research.
A picture is, however, incredibly convenient in sharing a lot about someone or something with a lot less effort than several pages of prose. With that in mind, although Mindfly has a blog that helps you "learn who we are," we've added a Flickr picture carousel to our main site to show you who we are. We decided it to launch it during Halloween, because what better day to let you really understand us than when we're all dressed up?
For example, by reading all the various posts I've written on this blog, you probably realize that I might need mental assistance in the near future. However, if you were to look at this:
... you'd probably arrive to that conclusion almost immediately.
For the record, I think I look killer in goggles and scarves. Look out ladies!
As is the tradition here at Mindfly, we participated in downtown Bellingham's Halloween Walk event, where businesses hand out candy to costumed children. It's a great community event, and it's also a wonderful excuse to be eating Snickers rather than coding for the rest of the afternoon. For some more pictures of the event, check out Mindfly's Flickr stream.
